Additional Information   The module is restricted to students undertaking the MArch and PGT Programmes at the School of Architecture; and students in the MEng AED and MSc AED course in Civil Engineering.

Description

Elements of Computational Design II provides students with a conceptual and practical introduction to elements of computational design drawn from data and information processing, physical computing, and mixed reality modelling. Students are introduced to programming with a scripting language (e.g., Processing, Python) that drives physical computing components (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Micro Python) to construct and demonstrate interaction scenarios through a mixed reality modelling platform. A synthesis of these elements and methods of computational design aims to equip students with concepts and skills required to build, test and communicate interaction scenarios that address user requirements of a proposed interactive environment.
